Sept 20, 2011 - South University today announced its expansion in the state of Texas with the addition of a new branch campus, South University – Austin. With its first day of class slated for November 10, South University's Austin area campus will occupy approximately 59,000 square feet at 7700 W. Parmer Lane in Austin.
"We are proud to bring South University's history of academic excellence to Austin, and to continue our tradition of providing higher education programs in areas of study that help students gain the professional skills they need to enter or advance their careers," according to John T. South, III, Chancellor of South University. "Our new campus will provide residents of greater Austin with rewarding opportunities to help them achieve their personal and academic goals."
Initially, South University – Austin will offer a master's degree program in Business Administration; bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Technology, and Psychology; and associate's degree programs in Accounting, Business Administration, and Information Technology.
"Guided by a caring faculty and staff, our supportive campus culture will be designed to help students obtain the skills and knowledge needed to compete for existing and emerging occupations," said Marie Neal, newly appointed president of South University – Austin. "I am looking forward to leading and growing our institution here in central Texas, to serve a broad audience of students, employers, and community organizations throughout the region."
Established in 1899, South University is a private academic institution dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the intellectual, social and professional development of a diverse student population. South University offers educational programs at the associate, bachelor's, master's and doctorate levels with campuses located in Savannah, GA; Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth, TX.; Columbia, S.C.; Montgomery, Ala.; Novi, Mich.; Richmond and Virginia Beach, Va.; and Tampa and West Palm Beach, Fla.
