Apr. 8 - April 9 Workshop Shows How to Get Stimulus Cash

NEWS - Local Breaking News

Local business owners can learn how they can access federal stimulus dollars to subsidize the wages of new hires at an informational session at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, at the Memorial Medical Educational Auditorium, 4700 Waters Ave.

The session explaining the Jobs for Georgia program is sponsored by the City of Savannah and Georgia Department of Human Services. The Georgia Department of Human Services has received approximately $162 million in stimulus funds to put our fellow Georgians back to work through such programs as Adult Subsidized Employment, which provides opportunities to subsidize 80 percent of new hire wages, and TeenWorks for youth, which subsidizes 100 percent of wages.

Representatives from DHS will be on hand to explain the benefits of the program as well as the details of how to get involved and take advantage of this initiative.

For more information and to reserve a seat please contact the City of Savannah Department at 651-3653 or email Sheena Anderson at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
