May 4 - Planned Outages Continue for Georgia Power in Effingham

Upgrades to Georgia Power's system in Effingham County continue, and that means the utility will be forced to shut power off in parts of the county while making the upgrades.

Planned power outages will take place this week along Highway 119 from Early Street to south of Berryhill Road, Mock Road from Highway 119 to south of Eagle Point subdivision, and in the Spring Hill Farms area.  Georgia Power will place door knockers on homes and businesses with the specfic date and time of the planned outages.

A planned outage is also scheduled for Saturday, May 8 beginning at 9:00 am and lasting up to eight hours. This outage will take place in the following areas: Laurel Street from East 2nd Street to Old Dixie Highway, Early Street from North Pine Street to Highway 119, Kieffer Hill Road, downtown Springfield northwest of East 3rd Street and northeast of Laurel Street, Ash Street north of Old Stillwell Road, Railroad Avenue northwest of 2nd Street, Webb Drive, Cleveland Street, Hart Street and South Cedar Street.  The rain date for those planned outages is May 15.
