Sept 12 – Atlantic Coast Bank Opens New Mortgage Office; Tracey Burdette Named Mgr.

Sept 12, 2011 - To order to serve the Georgia market, Atlantic Coast Bank announced last week that the bank was opening a new residential mortgage lending office at 7395 Hodgson Memorial Dr. in Savannah. The bank has hired Tracey Burdette as the mortgage branch manager to lead this new location and grow the bank’s position in the home mortgage market.

Atlantic Coast Bank is held by Atlantic Coast Financial Corporation, a publicly traded organization that is owned 100% by its shareholders. The bank was originally organized in 1939 as a credit union to serve the employees of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. Today, Atlantic Coast Bank is a nearly $1 billon, community-oriented financial institution serving southeastern Georgia and northeastern Florida through 11 branch locations.

Atlantic Coast Bank has a full retail bank branch in Garden City.

In 2004, Atlantic Coast became a public company and began trading shares on the NASDAQ. In 2006, the company dropped “Federal” from its name and became Atlantic Coast Bank, and in February 2011 Atlantic Coast Financial Corporation (ACFC) became the new holding company for Atlantic Coast Bank.

Having worked in the mortgage industry for the last nine years, Burdette has been recognized as a top mortgage producer. She received the President's Award from the Mortgage Bankers of Georgia in 2009 and 2010. She was also honored to receive the Mortgage Bankers of Georgia “Gold” award for the last six continuous years. Burdette served as the President of the Mortgage Bankers of Savannah in 2007 and again in 2011. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Homebuilders of Savannah and she is the incoming chairperson for the group’s Sales and Marketing committee.
