Aug. 30, 2011 - Statesboro-based Dabbs Williams General Contractors is honored to receive the American General Contractors (AGC) 2011 Build Georgia Award. The firm was nominated for its work on the Ellis Square Redevelopment Project in historic downtown Savannah, Georgia.

A crowning achievement for the City of Savannah, the 53,000 square foot Ellis Square Redevelopment started construction in April of 2009 and was opened to the public in March of 2010. Following the city's completion of an 1,100 space underground parking deck and the Avia Hotel, Dabbs-Williams General Contractors was awarded the contract to construct the final and most visible public design feature for this project, the park and facilities on top of the parking garage. An interactive fountain was designed that featured multiple computer programming options for water and light shows which provide a refreshing oasis during Savannahs warm summer days.
