Oct 31, 2011 - The City of Tybee and the city’s Tybee Island Community Resource Committee (CRC) is accepting exhibitors’ applications for the Tybee Island Water and Energy Fair to be held in February.
In addition to exhibitors, there are a limited number of openings for speakers and workshops. The signup deadline for speakers is December 1 and the exhibitor deadline is January 1.
The Energy and Water Fair is designed to educate attendees in ways to conserve and reuse community resources. Local businesses, scientists, and organizations will participate to show the community how using less to save more is easy and fun. The Event’s theme this year is “Know Your Impact.”
Participating businesses and organizations should have products or services that offer methods, techniques and devices to conserve water and/ or energy, or support the mission of the CRC.
The January 2011 Tybee Island Water Fair focused on water conservation and was well attended by area residents that showed an interest in water conservation and changes that can be made to reduce water bills and water usage. Over 30 businesses and organizations participated in the event with more than 50 door prizes awarded including a high efficiency low flow toilet donated by Sandpiper Supply. The CRC has expanded the focus of 2012 event to include energy conservation.
The Tybee Island Community Resource Committee is a Tybee Island City Council appointed committee with the mission to develop solutions for the most efficient and sustainable use and protection of Tybee Island’s vital community resources with a focus on water and energy conservation, green space, solid waste, food security and transportation.
