May 22 – Accessing Business Capital Symposium will be held at the Coastal Georgia Center at 305 Fahm Street, in downtown Savannah from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This workshop is free, open to the public and will focus on small business financing opportunities in Savannah. Additionally, this symposium will provide insight and assist you in developing a plan (as required) in accessing and managing business capital. May 22 – This month’s Leadership Savannah Graduate Program will give alums the chance go back to college! Join us May 22 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Savannah State University for a tour of the facilities, as well as presentations on some of SSU’s signature academic programs and sports. Attendees will also meet administrators and professors. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception in the Student Center/Ballroom. Cost is $25 for those who have not already paid annual dues. May 23 – Military Appreciation Luncheon at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, hosted by The Military Affairs Council. It’s time again to recognize the contributions of our service members. Keynote speaker will be Maj. Gen. Abe Abrams, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division based at Fort Stewart. Tickets for this event will be $40 each and tables of 10 will be $400. May 23 – Savannah Workplace Innovators Forum, 12-1:30pm at Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA), 131 Hutchinson Island Road. Employees experiencing financial stress spend approximately 13% of the workday dealing with money matters while on the job. In this session, employers will share how they have incorporated workplace opportunities for employees to increase their financial understanding and capability.
