Columbia College, Hunter Army Airfield, Names Dr. Don Stumpt Director

Dec 19, 2011 - Dr. Don Stumpf has been selected as director of Columbia College-Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah. He will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the campus, including class scheduling and student and faculty recruitment and retention.
"Don has experience in management, higher education and familiarity with Columbia College," said Gary Oedewaldt, associate dean for Adult Higher Education. "We are pleased to welcome him back and look forward to working with him again."
Dr. Stumpf previously served as director of Columbia College-Fort Stewart in Georgia for nearly five years. Most recently, he was an assistant professor and the graduate coordinator for the Department of Adolescent and Adult Education for Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Ga. He also served in the Georgia Air National Guard.
Dr. Stumpf received his bachelor's degree in general studies and his Master of Education in Adult Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. He holds a Doctor of Education in Education Administration from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.
Columbia College-Hunter Army Airfield offers three associate and four bachelor's degrees on campus as well as 23 associate, bachelor's and master's degrees online.
Columbia College-Hunter Army Airfield was established in 2002 to serve the military population and their families on the base and in the surrounding communities. Today it continues to serve civilian and military adult learners in the area.
