BB&T has announced two new hires.  Timothy P. O’Hayer is now the vice president of employee benefits with BB&T Insurance Services, and Lori Protsman has been named senior employee benefits account manager with BB&T Insurance Services. Both are based at 2280 E. Victory Drive.

O’Hayer brings 31 years of experience in the employee benefits business to his new role. He attended Armstrong Atlantic State University while majoring in psychology. He graduated from The American College where he earned two professional designations – chartered life underwriter and chartered financial consultant in financial counseling and services.

O’Hayer is a life member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and past president of the Savannah Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He holds multiple state and national licenses and is a member of the state and national health underwriters association.

Protsman brings 14 years of experience in the employee benefits business to her new role, including account management, human resources and financial services. She is responsible for all aspects of corporate client account management as well as assists with new business and renewal implementation and enrollment meetings.

Protsman, who holds a Georgia accident and sickness license, is a board member of the Coastal Empire Association of Health Underwriters, a member of the National Chapter of Health Underwriters and a member of the Professional Women’s Business Association.

ENT Associates of Savannah, P.C., a leading ear, nose and throat practice with offices throughout coastal Georgia, is pleased to announce that Brad A. Rawlings, M.D. recently joined the practice and specializes in otolaryngology as well as state-of-the-art head and neck surgery.

Dr. Rawlings completed his residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. He has conducted research on endoscopic sinus surgery and treatment of Laryngotracheal Stenosis and published articles in medical journals in his field. In 2006, he earned his M.D. from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga., where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

He has a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. He also earned Dean’s List and President’s List honors.

Dr. Rawlings is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

Deemer Dana & Froehle LLP, Georgia’s premiere full-service certified public accounting firm, is pleased to announce the addition of a new team member to its Audit Team – William C. Gruver.

Mr. Gruver joins Deemer Dana & Froehle in the Audit Department and will work in our Savannah office.  Originally from Savannah, Will is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. His previous career was serving the real estate industry in Atlanta. He is a recent graduate of the Master’s of Accounting program at Georgia Southern University and is excited to start his accounting career with the firm.
