Accomplished real estate veteran Chuck Mitchell recently joined Kulp|Mouchet as a sales associate and commercial broker. In his new position, Mitchell is responsible for commercial sales throughout coastal Georgia and South Carolina.
Mitchell brings an in-depth, insider perspective to the real estate brokerage business, based on his 28-year career in the regional real estate development industry coupled with marketing skills he honed with four years in the Brand Management system at Procter & Gamble.
“We’re pleased to welcome someone with Chuck’s depth and breadth of experience and who shares our core values of honesty, integrity and commitment to the client,” said Randy Kulp, managing partner of Kulp|Mouchet. “We’ve known and respected Chuck for years and are confident that he will be a true complement to our team.”
Before joining Kulp|Mouchet, Mitchell served as a founding member of Maloney, Mitchell & Denton – most recently known as MMD Commercial – a commercial real estate firm with offices in Charleston, Hilton Head Island and Savannah. During his tenure with the firm, he built a reputation for his impressive sales and marketing work on large land transactions for national builders and regional developers.
Mitchell also worked with Crescent Resources, the real estate development subsidiary of Duke Energy, where he headed up the Oldfield community in Okatie, S.C. Prior to Oldfield, Mitchell spent 16 years with The Branigar Organization, the real estate development subsidiary of then Union Camp and most recently International Paper, where he managed the national marketing programs for The Landings on Skidaway Island and directed Branigar’s new project development efforts.
Later, he was responsible for the initial planning, permitting and development of major land parcels in Georgia and South Carolina including the 9,300-acre Godley Tract, the 5,200-acre Buckwalter Tract, the 600-acre Shultz Tract and the 22,000-acre Argent Tract.
“All my 28 years in the business seem to have set me up for this fantastic opportunity with Kulp|Mouchet,” Mitchell said. “I have known this team for years and am proud to be a part of one of the most unique real estate groups in the area.”
Mitchell believes that Kulp|Mouchet’s independent status and strong focus on the local market sets it apart from other commercial real estate firms in the area.
“While most of the other commercial brokerages in Savannah have aligned with national entities, Kulp|Mouchet has chosen to stay independent, and thus is free to focus on its clients’ best interests, without the restrictions and requirements of out-of-state entities,” he explained. “As the market returns, we are quite confident this strategy will translate into significant sales volumes and in fact, are already seeing that trend for 2012. I expect for all of us at Kulp|Mouchet, this may be one of the most successful years ever.”
