The "Top 50" - Largest Real Estate Transactions in Chatham County, GA. Filed May 2011

Aug. 29, 2011 - Analysis of the most recently available real estate transactions for Chatham County show a continued pattern of lower home prices, prices that are often significantly lower than current Chatham County tax assessed values. (See Chart.)

The largest commercial real estate transaction was JDL GA, Inc. purchasing property from Beazer Homes' in Pooler for $ 1.7 million, the largest residential or commercial transaction in May.  JDL GA, Inc.'s registered agent with the Georgia Secretary of State is The Barnwell Company of Mt. Pleasant, SC, tax accountants and consultants.

The two largest residential transactions were at The Landings, with 13 Little Comfort Road selling for 13 Little Comfort Road $1,245,000 and 24 Little Comfort Rd. selling for $1,000,000.

The Chatham County Tax Assessors have an assessed value of $1,014,000 for 13 Comfort Rd. In 2010, the assessors had the home valued at $1,250,000. The lot at 24 Little Comfort Rd. was formerly owned by E.C. Johns Construction, and was valued at $352,000 last year. BB&T became the owners of the land in October 2010. The lot was sold to Christoper W. Nicholson for $1,000,000 according to the deed recorded.
