Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina has expanded its mission services in Bluffton. On Monday, Nov. 29, Goodwill opened doors to brighter futures by opening the doors to its new Job Link Center, located inside the Bluffton Goodwill retail store (509 Island West Park). A ribbon cutting ceremony was held with representatives from the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Bluffton.
Goodwill entered into a partnership with Beaufort Adult Education in an effort to streamline services for individuals in the community. “Often times the people that access Goodwill’s job services are also in need of Work Keys and Work Core Employability Skills training, both certification programs that will be offered by Adult Education through the Bluffton Job Link Center,” says Peggy Smith, VP, Employment Services for Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina.
The Job Link Center is open to everyone in the community and, in addition to the certification programs, will offer career coaching, job training and other employment placement services. The center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“When people have economic independence, they tend to be happier, more confident and contribute more to their community,” said Smith.
“It is our mission to help every individual who walks through the doors of our Job Link Center in the Bluffton Goodwill store.”
