Oct. 22, 2013 – Richmond Hill Pharmacy held its 10th Annual Health Fair on Friday, Oct. 18th from 1-5 p.m. Richmond Hill’s expert pharmacists and staff were onsite to answer questions and provide valuable health information to Health Fair guests.

For the 2013 Health Fair, Richmond Hill Pharmacy partnered with South University and offered attendees with a variety of medical treatments and tests. Patients in attendance received free blood pressure and glucose screenings, along with free glucose meter swaps. Participants too could opt for the test for osteoporosis and the risk of bone fractures, Flu vaccinations, and cholesterol screenings.

Pneumonia vaccinations and Zostavax, the vaccination for Shingles, were also available with a doctor’s prescription. People over 65 years of age and others at high risk for pneumonia are advised to have the vaccine every five years.

“For nearly 30 years, we’ve worked hard to positively impact the health and quality of life of our local community,” said Al Dixon, owner of Richmond Hill Pharmacy. “We’re especially proud that this marked the 10th anniversary of our annual health fair, and as always, are thankful for the support and participation. Our goal is to educate and encourage our community to make positive health choices year round, by providing vaccinations, information, and demonstrations to increase awareness and encourage people to take charge of their health.”
