June 22, 2020 - St. Joseph's/Candler released a statement on the status of COVID-19 patients at the hospital.

"St. Joseph’s/Candler has been closely watching the number of COVID-19 positive patients in our hospitals. After weeks of low and steady admission numbers, we have seen an increase in positive patients during the last few days.

Our current numbers are: 17 positive cases at St. Joseph’s Hospital and 3 positive cases at Candler Hospital.  Despite this uptick, our hospitals still have plenty of capacity to treat COVID-19 positive patients and PPE to protect both our co-workers and non-COVID-19 positive patients who need safe treatment.

It’s important to note that St. Joseph’s/Candler takes admissions from outside of Chatham County, the Coastal Health District and the state of Georgia. Seven of the cases at St. Joseph’s Hospital are from outside of Chatham County.

At our Primary Care and Urgent Care practices, we have tested 1082 as of June 17, with 34 positive results."
