Sept. 13 - Goodwill Southeast Georgia Resumes Operations After Hurricane Irma

Category: Georgia Business News

Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

September 13, 2017 - Goodwill Southeast Georgia stores and donation drop-off points and Job Connection Centers, with the exception of those in Glynn County, will resume normal hours as of Wednesday September 13.

The Brunswick retail store, donation centers and Job Connection Center will reopen as soon as conditions permit.

Goodwill’s immediate goal following Hurricane Irma is to help those people affected by the disaster become employed so they can earn the money to support their families in the weeks and months ahead.

Not having a place to work or a paycheck to count on is a devastating blow and compounds the trauma experienced by this storm. Goodwill Job Connection Centers provide those without employment the training and support services they need to get a job.  In 2016, more than 6,900 people received free services in one of four local Job Connection Centers.

Goodwill is also a committed community partner who understands many individuals in our communities may need clothing and household items and we stand ready to assist those individuals.  Goodwill Southeast Georgia shopping vouchers can be obtained through the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia’s disaster services.
