Aug. 3 - Rep. Gilliard and Commissioner Black to Kick Off Savannah Farmers Market Festival Series

August 3, 2018 - State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) and Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black will kick off the 2018 Savannah Farmers Market Festival Series on Saturday, August 18, 2018, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Savannah State Farmers Market in Savannah, at 701 US-80.

“This event is a continuation of our efforts in partnership with Commissioner Black for the last two-and-a-half years to bring the farmer's back to the market,” said Rep. Gilliard. “We hope that this event will help to bring farm-good food to the table of hundreds of citizens in need of fresh produce and goods.” 

The event will feature vendors, food trucks, educational exhibits, entertainment, Kids’ Corner and more. Event sponsors include Georgia Grown; Feed the Hungry, Inc.; Cumulus Broadcasting; the Savannah Pennysaver; and the Savannah Farmers Market Advisory Committee.
