Chad NeSmith, dealer principal of NeSmith-Walker Chevrolet Buick GMC in Jesup, officially opens his company’s new state-of-the-art facility today. The dealership broke ground in April 2011, and has created the Southeast’s most advanced and newest General Motors facility. A grand opening is set for the beginning of May 2012. The new six-acre facility includes an internet café, a children’s play area, a parts retail boutique, NeSmith’s No Hassle Car Rentals, an automatic drive-thru car wash and the most extensive service facility in southeast Georgia. Mayor Edna B. Jackson and Savannah City Aldermen will join with Israeli Consul General Opher Avira and members of the Greater Savannah International Alliance and Jewish Federation for a news conference Monday, April 2, to release information on a new international partnership with Israel.  Consul General Opher Aviran is the Consul General of Israel to the Southeastern United States, and is in Savannah on an official visit. The news conference will be held in the 1st Floor Rotunda, City Hall, 2 East Bay Street, and is open to the public.
