CEO PROFILE: Mark and Adrienne Wallace's Jet’s Pizza Lands in Savannah

March 1, 2013 – Fasten your seatbelts, Savannah! Jet’s Pizza is coming in for a landing! Savannah’s first Jet’s Pizza will open in early March at 7929 Abercorn St. near White Bluff Road in the Oglethorpe Plaza.

The franchise is locally owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Mark and Adrienne Wallace. Mark Wallace has 35 years of experience in the restaurant industry. This will be his first franchise.

Wallace is assembling a team of 20-25 part time employees to work at the store and as delivery drivers, including several students from nearby Savannah Technical College and Armstrong Atlantic University.

Jet’s, a Michigan-based chain, has built its reputation on its signature square, Detroit-style deep dish pizza with a crunchy crust. Jet’s pizza dough and sauce are prepared fresh daily at each store. Hand tossed round and New York-style thin crust style pizzas are also available along with salads, subs, wings, breadsticks and Jet Boats for carry-out or delivery.

Jet’s is one of the most rapidly expanding pizza franchises in the country, currently ranked 14th in overall sales by Pizza Today magazine.  Since its founding in 1978, Jet’s has grown to more than 250 stores in 16 states, with gross sales of more than $231 million annually.

Jet’s has 11 other locations in Georgia, all in Metro Atlanta. Peachtree City was the first Jet’s Georgia store to open in 2008. Two others just opened in December of 2012—Snellville and Roswell.
