Sept. 22 - DBA will feature Ben Carter’s Broughton Street Project at Oct. 3 luncheon

September 22, 2014 - The Savannah Downtown Business Association (SDBA) announced today that Ben Carter, founder and chairman of Ben Carter Enterprises, will speak at the October Luncheon.

The luncheon will take place at The Charles H. Morris Center, 10 East Broad St., on Weds,Oct. 8. Networking will beginat 11:00am followed by lunch catered by Magnolia Grill at noon.

The price is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Reservations are required by Fri., Oct. 3 for discounted rates. All reservations must be made via the website at

Ben Carter is responsible for the business strategy, new business development, site selection, retailer relationships and project partnerships of the company, and also oversees the company’s performance, operations and portfolio management. His current company and its predecessor, Ben Carter Properties, have developed over $3 billion – and over 5 million sq. ft. – in retail projects since 1993. 

Ben Carter Enterprises is involved in the development and acquisition of outlet retail centers, as well as urban retail/mixed-use properties in the Southeastern U.S.  The company’s current development and acquisition pipeline includes 2 regional outlet centers and an urban renewal project now underway in  Savannah.

Throughout Carter’s 38-year career, he has been involved with the development of office, retail and industrial properties throughout the Southeast, according to his media relations team.  “He is known for his intuitive site selection, quality design and construction and steadfast tenant commitments,”  they state.

Carter graduated from The Lovett School in Atlanta, and later received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from American University.

The mission of the SDBA is to promote a prosperous, unique business environment in downtown Savannah. Monthly luncheons provide downtown business professionals with an opportunity to expand their business by connecting with potential customers and business partners. The SDBA strives to present current, relevant topics at the luncheons that allow members and guests to stay up-to-date on issues faced by downtown businesses.
