Sept. 24 - Centex to Build New Neighborhood in Rice Hope Community

Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

September 24, 2019 - A new Centex neighborhood is coming to the master-planned community of Rice Hope, known for its water park, impressive outdoor activity amenities and walk-to school, and just a short drive to downtown Savannah.

Centex will feature seven one- and two-story designs in Rice Hope, including the Hampton model. Plans call for 78 single-family homes, with prices starting under $200,000.

“Exceptional resort-style amenities are already up and running, including a clubhouse with a fitness center, a lazy river pool with two water slides, as well as a playground and amphitheater,” said General Sales Manager Carter Faucette. “Rice Creek is a Chatham County K-to-eight school right here in the neighborhood, so kids can walk or bike to school.”

Other Rice Hope amenities include a walking trail that winds around Indigo Lake, a dog park and community dock where residents can fish and launch paddleboats and kayaks. The community is located about 6 miles north of Pooler, with plenty of dining choices, entertainment and shopping at the Tanger Outlets off Interstate 95.

Rice Hope land development is currently under way and a model home is expected to be completed next spring. Buyers will be able to choose from three to five bedrooms and two to four baths, with homes ranging in size from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet, some with a first-floor owner’s suite and all with two-car garages.
