Dec. 5 - Georgia Tech-Savannah Hosts December Saturday STEMlab with Curriculum Focused on Oceans and Sea Life

December 5, 2019 - The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) at Georgia Tech-Savannah is hosting a Saturday STEMlab focused on oceans and sea life.

This targeted curriculum is designed for 3rd through 12th grade students interested in discovering more about Coastal Georgia sea life and environmental sensors used to measure sea levels. The STEMlab will be offered two different Saturdays this year. Each Saturday STEMlab is $55 per student.           

3rd – 5th Graders will learn about Coastal, GA and how the oceans and sea life affect our day to day lives. Every participant will make and leave with their very own shrimp bubble.

6th – 12th Graders will learn about how environmental sensors are being used in Coastal, GA to monitor sea levels and then learn how to code their own environmental sensors with micro:bits! All participants will get to keep their micro:bit kit.

The STEMlabs will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 and Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Georgia Tech Savannah Campus, located at 210 Technology Circle.
