Sept. 23 - Institute for Executive Women Launches with Women's Power Breakfast Oct. 4

Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

September 23, 2019 - The Institute for Executive Women has officially launched in Coastal Georgia, providing professional leadership development and programs for all women.  Dr. Michelle Johnston, President of the College of Coastal Georgia, will be the keynote speaker for the inagural Women's Power Breakfast at the Brunswick Country Club on Oct. 4, 2019.

The institute's vision is to connect women to each other, develop community and encourage mentoring. Connections are made through programs include the Executive Roundtable, Women's Edition, Women's Power Breakfast and The Women's Leadership Summit.

"The data tells us that there is a direct correlation between women in leadership at the highest levels and economic impact. One statistic stated that advancing women could yield $12 trillion to the world economy", said Catherine Blake, president and founder. "We like to think that it starts with us. 10% of our revenue help women and girls around the world with a focus on those living in poverty, survivors of sex trafficking and entrepreneurs via microlending."

The organization hopes to launch scholarships to allow high potential women, students and others with income challenges to participate.

"Developing women leaders in our region is something that I support," said Dr. Michelle Johnston, president of the College of Coastal Georgia. "The College of Coastal Georgia is enthusiastic about building community for women to learn from each other and grow. We support lifelong learning and believe that leadership programs provide a way for our alumni to advance."

The public is invited to attend The Women's Power Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Brunswick Country Club, 4041 Darien Highway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
