Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

August 17, 2019 -  At 9:26 p.m. Friday, Savannah Fire Rescue was dispatched to a fire at the Nexeo Solutions Chemical Plant, located at 400 Telfair Rd on Savannah’s Westside.

Engine 4 was the first on scene, according to the Savannah Fire Dept.  Firefighters discovered smoke and flames coming from the rear of a warehouse containing petroleum products.

“They acted quickly to extinguish the fire. The blaze was contained to the warehouse. No one was injured,” according to a Friday night media release.

Nexeo Chemicals, headquartered In Elkhart, Indiana, was sold in March to Univar, but their plastics business was sold off to an investment firm in late March 2019.

The Savannah plant is now part of the Nexeo Plastics division.

No information is available on the cause of the fire.
