Jan. 12 - Clay promoted to Colonel and assumes command of 165th Operations Group

January 12, 2018 - Lieutenant Colonel Michael Clay was promoted to Colonel and assumed command of the 165th Operations Group, a unit of the 165th Airlift Wing, GA Air National Guard.  The 165th AW Operations Group has more than 400 Airmen assigned and includes the 158th Airlift Squadron, the 165th Operation Support Squadron, the 117th Air Control Squadron and the 165th Air Support Operations Squadron.  The 158th AS has 8 C-130 H3 Cargo Aircraft assigned, the primary function of the 165th Airlift Wing.  Col. Clay is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Human Factors Engineering and is also a graduate of the Air Force War College.  He is a full-time pilot for American Airlines.  Col. Clay lives in Savannah with his wife, Kim, and their two sons, Grant and Zach.
