September 14, 2018 - The American Heart Association recently announced that Brian Le Baron, the District Manager of Wells Fargo Bank, will chair the 2019 Palmetto Heart Walk and 5K Race. The event is to be held on Saturday, April 27 at Shelter Cove Community Park. The Palmetto Heart Walk raises awareness that walking 30 minutes a day greatly reduces your risk of heart disease and stroke, which are America’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers.

The AHA’s mission truly speaks to Le Baron as he is a stroke survivor and avid runner. “Heart disease and stroke can strike at any time, and it affects all ages, genders, and ethnicities. I would never in a million years think that I would have a stroke by the age of 37.This year, I’m honored to support the American Heart Association’s fight to end heart disease and stroke in our community. My goal is to encourage others to take charge of their health, so they can enjoy more of life’s precious moments,” said Le Baron.

Le Baron is recruiting fellow Wells Fargo team members to join him by training for the Palmetto Heart Walk. Each month he wants the team to participate in a local run and have a goal for their time to beat for the Palmetto Heart Walk/5K Run. During the entire month of September, Wells Fargo will match donations made toward the Palmetto Heart Walk, along with other charities for Wells Fargo employees who choose to participate.
