April 8, 2019 - The second of three phases for Chatham Area Transit’s Let’s Go! Designing Better Transit Together will publicly launch this Thursday with the unveiling of two Network Concepts.  All members of the community are invited to attend to learn more and share their feedback.

Let’s Go! Network Concepts Unveiling

Coastal Georgia Center Auditorium

Thursday, April 11, 2019

5 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Network Concepts presentation at 5:30 p.m.

During this meeting, CAT will unveil two Network Concepts, which illustrate the trade-off between providing high frequency and wide coverage.  Guests are encouraged to begin arriving as early as 5 p.m. to review informational posters about the Network Concepts. A PowerPoint presentation begins at 5:30 p.m. and will provide more detail about the two Network Concepts and key points to consider in evaluating each.  Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to share comments and ask questions.

“Redesigning a bus network means tough choices have to be made in how CAT provides service to the community within its existing budget,” CAT CEO and Executive Director Curtis Koleber said.  “We are pleased so many people participated in the first phase of this project and shared so many great comments with us.  We hope all of them and many others will be just as engaged during this next phase as we begin discussing the two concepts in more detail. Significant community input is needed to help us determine the future of our community’s transit network.”

The first phase focused on The Transit Choices Report, which describes existing conditions and trade-offs that arise in the Chatham County transit network, and a set of choices facing CAT as it decides how to spend its limited service budget in the future.  The full Phase 1 Public Input Summary is available at letsgo.catchacat.org
