December 2, 2016 - The Savannah Board of Realtors will hold a special recognition event this afternoon to honor the career in real estate of Harriet Konter of Savannah.

The event, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.at the Savannah Board of Realtors offices at 7015 Hodgson Memorial Drive in Savannah, will recognize Ms. Konter who “blazed the trail for  women in Real Estate to serve in leadership positions, both in Savannah and in Georgia,” they state.

The Harriet Konter Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a member of the Georgia Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors each year, allowing the recipient to attend the National Women's Leadership Conference in Washington, DC.  “She cannot be serving in a leadership position, only aspiringto serve one day,” according to the Board.

She was also the first woman to be inducted into the Georgia Association of  Realtors prestigious Hall of Fame

Harriet Konter will be the first woman having the honor to have her portrait displayed in the board room of the Savannah Board of Realtors, to be unveiled at 4:45 p.m. today at the event. Ms. Konter turned 92 years old on Nov. 21, and continues to be as involved as she is able to be with the Savannah Board of Realtors, the Women's Council of Realtors and the Georgia and National Association of Realtors.
