Dec. 8 – Unemployment in Savannah MSA declines to 4.9%, significantly under Georgia average

December 8, 2016 - The Georgia Dept. of Labor has released the latest data on the size of the Georgia labor workforce, and unemployment rates.

For the Savannah MSA, which includes Chatham, Effingham and Bryan counties, unemployment is at only 4.9%, down from a 5.0% rate in Sept. and below last October 2015’s rate of 5.2%.

The workforce increased to 183,229 adults as of Oct2016 for the Savannah MSA, up from 176,040 in October 2015.

The unemployment rate for Georgia was at 5.2% as of October 2016.
