Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

March 18, 2020 - Bob Williams, Savannah Scottish Games President, released the following statement:

"It is with tremendous regret the Savannah Scottish Games committee has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Savannah Scottish Games scheduled on May 2, 2020. In light of the declared National Emergency, declaration by Georgia’s governor of a Public Health State of Emergency, and the cancellation of most local and national sporting events coupled with projections that the COVID-19 outbreak will likely peak in the US around the end of April, it is the best course of action at this point. With 2,500-3,000 attendees, the majority of whom are within the “target” age that are susceptible to the virus, the committee did not feel that there was a workable option."
