June 3, 2020 – Robert Catanese has been named the Video Production Assistant for Chatham County, reporting to Catherine Glasby, Chatham County’s Public Information Director, effective immediately.

Catanese is well known to the public in the greater Savannah area, having served as a reporter with WTGS/Fox 28 in Savannah for four years.  He replaces Nick Beard whose family will be moving to another state to pursue a new opportunity, according to Glasby.

Catanese came to WTGS from a Palm Springs Garden, Florida area television station, and has also working in the Cincinnati, Ohio market.

In his new role, he will be running the County’s Channel 16 public television station and TV cameras, and handling both internal and external video production, such as broadcasting County Commission meetings, and producing videos for the county’s governmental website and social media platforms.

The Chatham County Emergency Management department has the lead role in all major storm events, including coordinating the communication of all nine municipalities in the county and working with all press outlets.
